Fall 2007 Membership Meeting : The Fall 2007 Membership meeting was held at Elachee Nature and Science Center in Gainsville.  There is a new partnership with this educational center to grow American chesnuts and incorporate them into the studies of the center.

Prater's Mill Fall 2007 Festival : Prater's Mill Foundation in Dalton, GA featured the American chestnut as their 2007 theme.  The GaTACF booth attracted many of the visitors to the festival to learn about TACF and taste the sweetness of the American chestnut.

Spring 2005 Annual Meeting : The first Annual Meeting of the Georgia Chapter of TACF, was held at the Pocket Recreation Area near Rome, GA where a large stand of trees were located.  These were first thought to be pure American chestnuts, but the chapter later discovered that they were chinkapin/american mixes.

Spring 2008 Annual Meeting : GaTACF members met at Vogel State Park for their spring 2008 meeting.  American chestnuts were planted at the park behind the CCC museum last fall.  New board members were elected and Mike Hinson assumed the role of President.  Dr. Paul Sisco presented a program on growing American chestnuts.
